Chubby cheeks, tiny fingers and sleepy snuggles. I’m a Mummy myself and understand those first few weeks feel like a bit of a blur! Consequently, a photoshoot might sound like an awful idea because you’re recovering from the birth and feeling shattered. But, trust me, you won’t regret documenting these first few weeks. One thing’s for certain, they’ll never be this small again.

Newborn & Baby Photo Shoots

I’m a Godalming newborn photographer with a relaxed and natural style. Therefore, I focus on getting a mix of baby on their own and with you as a family. The session is led by your baby, so it’s fine if your baby is sound asleep, wide awake, feeding or being cuddled. Therefore, my newborn photos have a timeless, natural feel, no fancy forced poses and outfits. Most importantly, you have the option to do it in the comfort of your own home in Surrey.

Firstly, I love photographing babies of any age! However, to get those sleepy newborn photos we all know, these should be done in the first 2 weeks. After this, as they might get baby acne and generally ‘wake up’ to the world. On the other hand, if you’re already past the early newborn stage, there is NO wrong age for baby photography! I get adorable photos when they’re a bit older too as they’re usually more more interactive and holding their heads up and smiling.

How the shoot works ...

Baby led sessions – if they need feeding, changing or cuddles, then go ahead.
I try and get a mixture of shots – some of baby alone, full family ones, some with each parent and any siblings (or pets!).
Any age is perfect for capturing a baby!

FAQs – Newborn photography

Can younger siblings be involved?

Yes, absolutely! Firstly, I try to to get a mix of images for you – some of baby on its own, some with parents, some with siblings and some full family shots. Secondly, if siblings are young, I often try and get some of them done first so they can go and play and not get bored!

How early should I book?

There’s no specific time you need to book by. When you get in contact, I will book a provisional date in, but that’s obviously fully flexible once bubba arrives (as we can’t predict that!). Also, while you’re waiting for baby to arrive, you could book in a maternity shoot.
