The only thing I regret from my two pregnancies was not documenting them! One thing I’ve learnt as a maternity photographer is that everybody’s journey to motherhood is different. Whatever the road, it’s such a magical time, whether it’s your first pregnancy or your last.

Before long, your little miracle will be here – you’ll forget what it felt like to be pregnant and the incredible journey your body went through. A maternity photo session is a beautiful way to capture this fleeting milestone in life.

Maternity Photo Sessions

Being pregnant is exciting, wondrous, scary and tiring – all at the same time! Every pregnancy is different – maybe you’re glowing or perhaps you’re dealing with chaotic hormones and swollen limbs. Regardless of how you feel, each pregnancy is beautiful in its own way and definitely worth documenting.

I’m a mother myself and definitely resonate with any insecurities you may have. Therefore, I will ensure we get you the most flattering images and light to show the beauty of your growing bump. Firstly, you are beautiful, even if you’re exhausted and aching. Secondly, your child will absolutely love looking at these images of you one day.

FAQs – Maternity photography

When is the best time to book?

The recommended time for maternity photos is between 32 to 35 weeks. Firstly, for your comfort, mobility and energy. Secondly, it allows a bit more time at the end in case we have to reschedule or if your little one makes an early appearance! However, I’ve photographed bumps up until due date – it’s never too late to capture this memory!

What do I wear for maternity photos?

The most important thing is that you wear something you feel comfortable in. For indoor sessions I have a few clothing options, some with belly showing that you’re welcome to use. Dresses are best and simple, neutral colours (cream, grey, blues, dark olive greens) always work well in the outdoors. Avoid stripes or patterns that take the focus off your gorgeous bump. Remember comfortable footwear too.

Can my partner and/or children be in the photos?

Yes, definitely! It’s totally up to you who you’d like to be involved.
